This Web Accessibility Policy outlines how Cape Fear Veterans & Allies (“CFVA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) ensures that everyone, including persons with disabilities, has full and equal access to our digital offerings on the website (the “Site”).

Cape Fear Veterans & Allies has voluntarily undertaken efforts to comply with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Level AA (WCAG-2.0 AA), a set of guidelines adopted by a private group designed to maximize the accessibility of web content. These guidelines outline four main principles that state that sites should be:

 

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive

  • Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable

  • Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable

  • Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies

 

The site is compatible with most popular Internet browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. It may not work as well on Internet Explorer and older browser versions.

 

The Site distributes this policy to all team members and commits to conducting annual audits and testing on the Site to keep the website accessible to all. The Site also engages in automated testing to improve accessibility.

 

Through genuine effort and commitment, including testing, evaluation, and remediation, we believe the Site adheres to best practices for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As laws and accessibility standards evolve and we work to provide the most current content online, please understand that our efforts to enhance online accessibility are ongoing.
